English

Background & Purpose: In today's competitive world, organizations rely on advanced technologies to sustain their productivity and human resource development. In this context, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative tool, offering numerous opportunities for employee training and professional development. This study aims to provide a comprehensive and systematic approach to analyzing the existing literature and extracting novel insights into the role of AI technology in improving employee training, retraining, and professional development processes within organizations.
Methodology: This qualitative study employs a scoping review approach based on Arksey and O’Malley’s (2005) five-stage framework. The literature was screened using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, resulting in the selection of 21 studies published between 2016 and 2025 for review.
Findings: AI-driven opportunities, challenges, tools, and initiatives in employee training, retraining, and professional development processes within organizations were identified, categorized, and analyzed.
Conclusion: The findings highlight the transformative role of AI technology in employee training and professional development. Beyond its technical and practical applications, AI contributes to retraining, upskilling, and workforce adaptation to emerging organizational challenges. The theoretical contribution of this study lies in presenting a multidimensional and integrative framework that expands the existing knowledge and theories related to human resource development and organizational learning in the digital age. By emphasizing retraining and skill renewal for future workplace adaptation, this research offers originality and valuable insights
