Background & Purpose: In the past decade, the nature of human resources has undergone numerous changes, including a significant increase in the number of independent or freelance workers, particularly in developed countries, which has drawn the attention of organizations. Organizations that can identify the factors influencing the freelance mindset of human resources can implement effective policies and procedures to retain human resources before the desire to become independent arises, and prevent the negative consequences for the organization; therefore, this research, with the aim of deeply studying the experiences of managers and employees of state organizations in Lorestan province, seeks to uncover and identify the reasons and consequences of the freelance mindset of human resources.
Methodology: This research is exploratory (qualitative-quantitative) in terms of method and applied in terms of purpose. The statistical population of this research includes university professors, managers, and employees of state organizations in Lorestan province. Using a purposive sampling method based on the principle of theoretical saturation, 25 individuals were selected as sample members. The data collection tools in the qualitative part of the research were semi-structured interviews, and in the quantitative part, a questionnaire. The validity and reliability of these tools were assessed through content validity, theoretical validity, and the reliability of two coders, respectively. Also, the validity and reliability of the questionnaire were confirmed using content validity and test-retest reliability.
